The Andrewsarchus gets its name from Roy Chapman Andrews. It means ‘Andrews commander’.
Discovered in 1923, only a skull of the Andrewsarchus was discovered in Inner Mongolia, China.
To recreate the Andrewsarchus for Jurassic World, DNA from the Mesonyx was used, which is believed to be a larger relative.
