Similar to the Stegosaurus in build, the Tuojiangosaurus's back plates were much more triangular and pointed.
Its name, Tuojiangosaurus, is a combination of Chinese and Greek meaning 'Tuo River lizard'.
Discovered in 1973, the Tuojiangosaurus fossils reveal that it was the earliest example of a stegosaur known to humanity!
