SPHENACODON

Sphenacodon is a close relative of Dimetrodon, as can be seen from its large and narrow skull. Also, both creatures have long torsos, short limbs, and move as quadrupeds.

Some scientists believe that Sphenacodon had exceptionally strong back muscles which strengthened the creature’s mobility, and even made it capable of leaping.

Sphenacodon means "wedge point tooth". This carnivore’s mouth contains a variety of razor-sharp teeth, which make tearing meat effortless.

Sharp bones jutting from the vertebrae make up this creature’s back crest. There are at least two known species of Sphenacodon, and each is distinguished by their different crest lengths.
