EVO1		"Flat-spear tusk" had almost a worldwide distribution during the Miocene Epoch.
EVO2		Although Platybelodon's mouth looks like a shovel, the second set of flat tusks acted more like a scythe to shear though tough vegetation.
EVO3		Only recently has research pointed towards Platybelodon have both both a highly specialized mouth and a dexterous trunk.
EVO4		Platybelodon foraged for plants along the shores of swamps and bogs as well as shearing the branches of small trees with its tusks.
